Covid-19 Information – (updated 24th September 2020)

To our lovely couples who have booked with us this year and beyond, and to those who are thinking of booking with us in the future, we firstly want to thank you for your patience in this difficult and challenging time.

This is a rapidly changing situation and whilst we will do our very best to keep this information page updated regularly, if you have any specific questions about your day, please contact us directly. Please rest assured that we are working behind the scenes to ensure that each of our couples has the best possible special day, when it is safe to do so.

Government Guidance – Updated Thursday 24th September 2020

The latest government guidance states that wedding parties are able to be held for up to 15 people. This includes the happy couple and their guests, but does not include the registrars or any of the venue staff. It also means that any wedding receptions must conclude by 22.00.

We appreciate this will be a concern to many of you and if you would like to discuss your day with us directly, please do not hesitate to get in contact. For up to date information, please visit the gov.uk website.

If the current measures affect your day directly we will be in contact to discuss the implications of the measures and support you with ensuring we make your day run smoothly in a safe environment.

We want to ensure we are open and flexible with all of our couples and our recommended suppliers for our marquees and catering service have offered the reassurance that we will all work with couples to be as agile as possible in the current circumstances.

Contact

Any couples marrying at the venue in 2020 have already been contacted to discuss alternative dates should they wish and if any of our couples marrying next year or after wish to contact us for any reassurance they are of course welcome to do so.

Whilst our usual telephone number is available to the public we kindly ask that where possible you contact us via email to discuss any existing bookings, or requests for information from happy couples.

New Bookings and Viewings

Our colleagues have been working tirelessly to ensure the venue is safe for visitors and we are happy to confirm that from Monday 5th October St Martin’s Priory will be offering viewings to the public.

The venue is now Covid secure and ready to welcome happy couples to view the venue and its magical gardens. This is by appointment only and if you would like to book a viewing, please email weddings@canterbury.ac.uk and we can arrange a viewing at your convenience.

With best wishes,

The St Martin’s Priory Team
